Solidarity Union blasts public pay cap 29/03/2006

The Solidarity Trade Union has blasted the below-inflation pay rise ceiling for the public sector. They said an average 2.25% increase would hit millions of front-line workers hard. Union Executive member Patrick Harrington commented: The decision by Gordon Brown to impose a wage ceiling fosters a culture of low pay and will make it still more difficult for the public services to compete for talented workers with the private sector.”
