Brits want Blair put on trial for war crimes

Blair’s crocodile tears don’t fool the British people. They want him tried for war crimes

Tony Blair should be put on trial for war crimes according to the latest YouGov poll. Two thirds of those surveyed in a representative sample say this. This is what the Third Way wants too.

Many believe that Blair knowingly misled Parliament in order to mount an invasion of Iraq in coalition with the United States.

With the aid of his notorious ‘dodgy dossier’ and infamous ‘weapons of mass destruction’ mantra, many believe Blair and his cronies used lies and deceit to convince Parliament of claims that Iraq somehow posed a military threat to Britain. It’s on that basis that British lives and resources were squandered and misery was inflicted on the people of Iraq. It’s something Blair (or Bliar) will never be forgivven for.

The Chilcot Report, which was published last July, ruled that Tony Blair joined the invasion of Iraq before military action was a last resort and was scathing about decision making at the heart of Mr Blair’s government.

After publication of the report Blair said:

‘I express more sorrow, regret and apology than you may ever know or can believe.’

‘There were serious criticisms but the report shows there were no lies, Parliament and the Cabinet were not misled, there was no secret commitment to war, intelligence was not falsified and the decision was made in good faith.’

It seems he was right – no one believes him!
