Allowancegate: Need a new kitchen?

Any MP wanting to install a new kitchen is in luck. They are allowed to claim up to £10,000 from public money. They can also get more than £6,000 for a bathroom. The figures were revealed recently when parliament published  – under a Freedom of Information Act application – the so-called ‘John Lewis List’ which finance officials use to approve MPs’ expenses claims.
